Thousand Oaks, California (April 1, 2009) - World-renowned manufacturer of licensed and proprietary product, Sideshow Collectibles is announcing an all-new line of premium collectibles, the Sideshow Originals series Heroes of Darwinism. February 12, 2009, marked the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth, and Sideshow is proud to join the scientific community in celebrating this historic event with the launch of this new collectibles line. The project’s Development Team is collaborating with specialists in the fields of evolutionary science and social observation to design dynamic compositions depicting a wide array of human experiences. Included within the Heroes of Darwinism series will be the ‘Man VS Machine’ line and the ‘Man VS Wild’ line, each of which will provide the opportunity for dynamic Diorama compositions and a unique variety of collectible products.
“Our goal is to really celebrate those individuals who have taken chances, thought outside the box and put their ideas to the test,” said Sideshow’s Creative Director Tom Gilliland. “These heroes have really sought to push the limits of human achievement, and we feel that it is important to salute them.” Launching the Heroes of Darwinism line are the soon-to-release ‘Desert Daredevil’ – Sergeant VS Chevy Diorama Set and the ‘Trapeze Artist Tumble’ – Little Person VS Hippopotamus Diorama Set. These unique sets fashion the before and after of an heroic attempt and can be displayed as bookends.
