U.S. 3-inch Parrott Rifle - Civil War Cannon. Developed by Robert Parker Parrott, the M1863 3-inch Parrott rifle was made mainly in cast iron with a large wrought iron reinforcement band. It is recognizable for its straight barrel, free of muzzle swells and is notable for its incredible accuracy. The Parrott rifle was a mainstay of field artillerymen, widely used in battle during the American Civil War.
